More COVID Testing Available Thursday Evening

More COVID-19 testing is coming to Evansville’s Southeast Side.

The local Resource and Awareness Task Force will conduct a second neighborhood drive up testing event Thursday evening at 4100 Covert Ave. -- the site of the former Health South rehab center.

The Vanderburgh County Health Department says the testing is set for 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

As WNIN’s Steve Burger reported last week, response to the previous drive-up event was so heavy that officials started turning people away even before the start time.

Thursday’s testing is open to Evansville and Vanderburgh County residents, no appointments are required, and individuals will again be tested on a first come first serve basis.

The testing is free, but if you have insurance you’ll be asked to provide information for billing purposes.

Face covering are required but those who don’t have a mask will be provided one,

You’ll be asked for basic personal information so results can be provided and for potential follow-up.

Children under the age of 18 may be tested with consent from a parent or guardian.

More: Evansville’s 47714 zip code – which includes much of the East and Southeast sides -- has seen the highest number of COVID cases in Vanderburgh County.
