Vanderburgh County has set another single-day record for new COVID-19 infections.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported 57 new cases in Vanderburgh County in its Tuesday report.
That raises the overall total of local residents that are – or have been – infected to 858.
No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.
The numbers came as the Evansville City Council considered a face mask ordinance and Mayor Winnecke prepared to issue an executive order requiring masks.
The state agency reported more than 660 new cases across Indiana and 13 new statewide deaths.
The Green River District Health Department reported 29 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 12 of them in Daviess (Davis) County, but no new deaths.
