COVID Exposure Temporarily Closes Sauced, Peephole

File

Two Downtown Evansville establishments have temporarily closed because of COVID 19.

On its Facebook page, the Peephole said a customer last Tuesday night later tested positive for the coronavirus.

The person reportedly had a cough but chose to go out in public with no face covering.

Owner Steve Alsop said the establishment strictly follows sanitization and masking requirements, and says the risk to other patrons is considered minimal.

Alsop said prior to reopening this week, the Peephole will receive a professional anti-virus cleaning treatment, and all employees will be required to produce a negative test result.

Meantime, Sauced has reported on Facebook that it was also exposed to COVID-19 last Tuesday, and one staff member tested positive in an unrelated case.

The Italian restaurant at Haynie’s Corner said it will be closed until staff members come back with negative test results.

Owner-operator Scott Schymik said Sauced will continue to work with the CDC and the Vanderburgh Health Department to create a safe working and dining environment.
