Evansville Police are investigating a fatal drive-by shooting.
In a release, the EPD says officers were dispatched to 709 E. Virginia St. at about 3:15 Sunday morning for a person that had been shot.
While enroute, central dispatch told officers that friends had loaded the victim into a car and were headed to a hospital.
Additional officers were dispatched to the hospital where the victim and friends arrived a short time later.
Meanwhile, officers arrived on E. Virginia and found shell casings and more witnesses.
They said the victim, 22-year-old Javion Hisheem Bell, and friends were getting out of their vehicle when another vehicle drove by and someone started shooting at them.
Police say they have no description of the suspect vehicle or occupants.
Bell was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
