Authorities continue to investigate a weekend shooting that killed an Evansville man.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of Friday night’s shooting in the 1700 block of S. Bedford as Keyonja Barnes.

In a release, Coroner Steve Lockyear said an autopsy conducted Monday determined Barnes died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Evansville Police said officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired and a report that a man was down, bleeding from the head.

The EPD said Barnes received medical treatment at the scene and was transported to a hospital for more aid.

But the Coroner’s Office said on Sunday that Barnes had died.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call Evansville Police.
