Primary Wraps Up Tuesday

File

The polls are open until 6 p.m. Tuesday for Indiana’s rescheduled primary election.

The governor postponed today’s vote by a month because of the COVID-19 outbreak and many people have already voted via mail.

Officials are urging Hoosiers who vote in-person today (Tues) to wear masks and observe social distancing, but the measures are not mandated.

In Vanderburgh County, there’s a contested Republican primary for County Council At-Large. There are four candidates, and the top three advance to the Nov. 3 general election.

The candidates are incumbents Joe Kiefer and Angela Koehler Lindsey, along with the Rev. Billy Garrett and Jill Hahn.

In another contested GOP primary, incumbent Vanderburgh County Commissioner Cheryl Musgrave is being challenged by Randy Chapman.

On the Democratic side, three candidates are running to challenge incumbent Republican Congressman Larry Bucshon in the November election: Ron Drake, Thomasina Marsili, and Mike Webster.
