Indiana’s COVID-19 death toll has topped 1,700.
The State Department of Health reported 38 new deaths on Wednesday, raising the statewide toll to 1,716.
The agency also reported nearly 600 new confirmed cases across Indiana.
The state reported two new cases in Vanderburgh County for a total of 225. Vanderburgh’s death toll held at two.
No new deaths were reported in hard-hit Warrick County, where 26 fatalities have been blamed on the virus – most of them from two Newburgh nursing homes.
No COVID-related deaths have been reported in Posey or Gibson counties.
