The annual German-themed festival in Jasper was set for July 30th through August 2nd.
It was to be the fest’s 50th anniversary.
But on the event’s website, organizers say they’ve made the “difficult decision” to cancel due to COVID-19.
There’s no word yet from Germania Maennechor about its annual Volksfest in Evansville. It’s usually held about the same time as the Jasper event.
Concerns about the pandemic and social distancing have cancelled a number of summer events in the Tri-State, including the Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival in Henderson, ROMP in Owensboro, and Evansville’s Fourth of July fireworks display.
