A Fort Campbell unit is back from New York City where they assisted with COVID-19 patients.

Over 200 soldiers from the 586th Field Hospital have been deployed since late March to assist with COVID-19 efforts in New York City. According to a release, the unit  was stationed at the Javits New York Medical Station, where they cared for COVID patients.

The medical station is located in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, which was converted to handle COVID patients during the pandemic.

The unit cared for over a thousand patients during the deployment. Since arriving back at Fort Campbell Tuesday, they remain in a precautionary quarantine under medical supervision.
