A young Vanderburgh County man is accused of shooting his father.
The sheriff’s office says deputies were dispatched to 4700 Posey County Line Road on Saturday when a man said his son had shot him in the stomach.
The victim had reportedly been driven to Deaconess Midtown Hospital by his wife.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Zachery Mueller (MEW-ler), had fled the scene.
Deputies said they found a rifle and a knife in the front yard.
The victim advised that he and his son had been arguing over playing music too loud.
The sheriff’s office said Zachery Mueller began making phone calls to his mother and then a negotiator with Evansville Police, during which he made suicidal comments.
Officers found Mueller's vehicle on State Road 65 and he was taken into custody without incident.
Mueller faces charges including attempted murder.
His father is expected to recover.
