Indiana 8th District Congressman Larry Bucshon held a media briefing Thursday.

More funding for small businesses is likely. Cybersecurity is a priority and don’t expect to attend any large gatherings until at least this fall.

Those were some of the comments from Eighth District Congreeman Larry Bucshon In a Zoom conference with the media Thursday, Bucshon said they expect to be asked to approve another $250 billion for small business relief in the coming weeks.

He said he’s comfortable voting for more funding because of the strict oversight measures built into the CARES Act response to the pandemic.

Bucshon said, “The oversight will continue on for many years with this program, just as it did with TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) back in the late 2000’s . I’m comfortable with the level of oversight, especially when we have a congressional panel that will have the ability to oversee this.”

The congressman says it will likely be late next year before a coronavirus vaccine is widely available. Bucshon says he has not been tested for the coronavirus because he has had no symptoms of COVID-19.
