The coronavirus outbreak has forced Toyota to suspend production for two days next week.
The automaker says it will suspend production at all of its North American facilities, including the Gibson County plant, on Monday and Tuesday.
In a release, Toyota said the action is being taken to “help ensure the health and safety of our employees, and due to an anticipated decline in market demand related to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic."
The company said all employees will receive full pay during the temporary closure.
Production is scheduled to resume on Wednesday.
During the shutdown, Toyota said it will conduct a thorough cleaning of all manufacturing facilities.
