An Evansville artist has died following a fall at Garden of the Gods.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identifies the victim as 36-year-old Sara Rappee.
An investigation from the US Forestry Service and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office indicates Rappee fell about 60 feet in the southern Illinois recreation area Saturday night.
She was flown to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville, where she died early Sunday.
The coroner’s office says Rappee suffered multiple blunt force trauma in the fall.
She described herself on Facebook as a jewelry designer and stone cutter. She also worked as a wedding photographer.
Rappee studied art at USI.
