ISP: Two Pursuit Suspects In Custody, Facing Drug Charges

Two Evansville residents are accused of fleeing from police in a stolen car.

Indiana State Police say 28-year-old James Jacob Nebelski and 30-year-old Cami Joiner refused to stop for a trooper Tuesday afternoon in Posey County.

Police said the car driven by Nebelski was clocked at more than 100 miles an hour on State Road 69, just north of Mt. Vernon.

The brief chase ended when the suspects drove through Bellefontaine Cemetery and crashed into a cornfield.

Police say a man and a woman got out of the car and ran.

State police say they later learned the car was reported stolen out of Gibson County, and they found illegal drugs in the vehicle.

A search for the pair continued into the night, but authorities couldn’t find them.

The ISP says a 9-1-1 call Wednesday morning led them to Nebelski and Joiner at a Casey’s convenience store in Mt. Vernon.

Both suspects were taken to the Posey County jail.

Nebelski faces preliminary charges including Resisting Law Enforcement, Auto Theft, and Dealing Methamphetamine.

Joiner faces charges including Resisting, Auto Theft, and Meth Possession.
