House Fire Injures 1 Person, Kills Dog

One person was injured and a pet dog died in a house fire on Evansville’s West Side. 

Firefighters were dispatched to 4613 Claremont Ave. at about 8:30 Monday morning.

In a news release, EFD Division Chief Mike Larson said firefighters found smoke coming from the roof.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze but three people were displaced.

The fire department says one occupant was injured and AMR took that person to a hospital.

Firefighters were unable to save a pet dog.

There’s no word on the cause of the fire or the identity of the residents.
