3 Women Arrested After Body Found Near Ellis Park

EPD

Police have arrested three women in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found near Ellis Park.

In a news release, Evansville Police say 27 year-old Lakeysha Couto, 31-year-old Ciarra Landfair, and 23-year-old Gracie Smith will face charges for their alleged roles in the death of 23-year-old Kimra Miller.

Police believe Miller died during a fight at 1623 S. Garvin on May 26th and that her body was taken to a wooded area north of Ellis Park.

Police say Couto and Landfair were with Miller before, during, and after the fight.

They say Couto and Landfair blamed each other for Miller’s death.

The two are also accused of asking Smith to help them move Miller’s body.

A farmer found the body last Sunday near the Kentucky-Indiana line.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office initiated the investigation and EPD investigators assisted, until it was determined the death happened in Evansville and the EPD took over the case.

All three suspects were taken into custody without incident and were housed in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
