Not-for-profits have an opportunity to receive money for capital projects in Evansville.

The City of Evansville Endowment Fund – or CEEF -- is accepting letters of inquiry for projects that serve the city.

Last year, the CEEF awarded more than $425,000 to 22 nonprofit organizations in Evansville.

In a news release, the endowment says Only nonprofit organizations that are recognized as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) will be considered for funding.

Organizations must serve within the city limits. 60% of the grant funding will go to the 4th and 6th wards of Evansville.

Inquiries will be accepted through June 29th. More information can be found online at communityfoundationalliance.org.

The CEEF began in 1994, when then-Mayor Frank McDonald II and the City Council proposed that $5 million of gaming boat revenue be invested to serve the City of Evansville.
