The former head of the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library is coming out of retirement.
The EVPL’s Board of Trustees has appointed Marcia Au as Interim CEO-Director.
Au retired from the library in 2015 after serving as director for 20 years.
In a news release, the library system said Au would assume full managerial responsibility for library operations while the board conducts a national search to fill the position long-term.
Earlier this month, the library announced current CEO-Director Cyndee Landrum had accepted a job at the Institute of Museum and Library Services in Washington D.C.
Landrum led the EVPL for 3-and-a-half years.
Board President Chuck Whobrey said the board is “confident Mrs. Au will guide the library through this time of transition.”
