Landrum Leaving EVPL

EVPL

The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library system is looking for a new leader.

The EVPL says in a news release that CEO-Director Cyndee Landrum has been appointed the Deputy Director for the Office of Library Services for the Institute of Museum and Library Services in Washington D.C.

In the release, Landrum says she’s making the move with “great enthusiasm and a bit of heaviness” in her heart.

She notes the new job will end 20 years of continuous service in public libraries, but she says she couldn’t think of a better place than Evansville and Vanderburgh County to close this chapter of her career.

Landrum says she’s proud of what the EVPL is accomplishing within the community.

She has served as the leader of the library system since January 2016.

One controversial event during Landrum’s time as CEO was the Drag Queen Story Hour at North Park Library.

It drew demonstrations in support and opposition.

The EVPL Board of Trustees will search for a new CEO-Director.
