Parts of the Tri-State could see several inches of snow Friday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for southwest Indiana and southeast Illinois.

The agency has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for western Kentucky.

A mix of rain and snow is expected to move into the area this afternoon and evening.

Forecasters say the immediate Evansville area could see 2-to-4 inches of wet snow tonight. Heavier amounts are expected north and west of Evansville, including Mt. Carmel, Vincennes, and Jasper.

Lesser amounts are expected in western Kentucky.

The Winter Storm Warning expires at noon Saturday in Evansville, as temperatures rise above freezing and snow changes to rain.

Crews have pre-treated some roads and bridges ahead of the storm.
