A Mt. Vernon man faces multiple drug charges after police say he was found asleep at the wheel.
Indiana State Police say a trooper investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on Blackford Road in Posey County early Sunday.
In a news release, the ISP says the vehicle’s headlights were on, the taillights were off, the engine was running, and a man was asleep in the driver’s seat.
After knocking on the window, police say 23-year-old Steven Reynolds woke up and appeared to be impaired.
A check showed Reynolds was wanted in both Posey and Vanderburgh counties.
The ISP says a search of the vehicle turned up a backpack containing about 8 grams of methamphetamine, syringes, morphine pills, a small amount of marijuana,
Police say Reynolds refused to submit to a chemical test and was taken to the Posey County Jail.
He faces 8 charges, including Dealing Meth, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, and driving without ever receiving a license.
