UE Theatre Professor Accused In Harassment Lawsuit Won't Teach Spring Classes

A University of Evansville (UE) theatre professor placed on leave after he was accused of racial and sexual harassment will not return for the spring semester.

A university spokesperson said theatre professor Scott Lank will not teach courses or participate in any theatre productions during the spring semester. Lank was scheduled to direct a play called Colony Collapse in February and March, according to a previous announcement from the UE theatre department.

The university placed Lank on leave for the fall 2018 semester after a former student accused him of racial and sexual harassment in a federal lawsuit. A lawyer for the university said Lank’s employment past the fall semester was under review.

University spokesperson Amanda Cambell said that review is ongoing.
