It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Downtown Evansville.

Crews installed holiday decorations along Main St. before Thanksgiving --  as did most merchants -- and now the city’s Christmas tree has arrived in front of the Civic Center.

The city of Evansville says the 28-foot-tall Norway spruce was donated by Richard Sanford.

SKANSKA donated a crew and equipment to transport the tree to the Civic Center Monday morning.

It’s being decorated with multi-colored LED lights donated to the city last year by Advance Network & Computer Services.

The Christmas tree is topped with a lighted lower-case “e,” from the city’s “e is for everyone” campaign.

The official tree lighting is set for Wednesday evening at 5:15.

Singers from the Memorial High School Choir will perform starting at 5:00.
