Cowork Space Opens On Main St.

John Gibson

A new workspace has opened in Downtown Evansville.

It’s called Cowork Evansville and it provides office amenities for people who normally work from home.

Celia Shoulders is facilities operations manager for the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, or GAGE.

She says the work space on the ground floor of Innovation Pointe is Evansville’s first such facility…

"Featuring 5,000 square feet of open area workspace, there's also meeting space available as well for $600 a year. That's the membership fee."

Shoulders says the space in the former Arts Council location is already attracting a variety of business people…

"Some people are those that work out of coffee shops, libraries, you name it. Some of them work remotely for a company based out of another state, some of them own their own business."

Shoulders says open-desk memberships with 24-7 access to Cowork Evansville will increase to $800 a year in mid-December.

The Arts Council, meantime, is moving to 212 Main St.
