The remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon brought tornadoes and heavy rain to the Tri-State.
The National Weather Service said an EF-1 twister hit the Stanley, Kentucky area Saturday afternoon.
The weather service estimated the tornado’s winds at 110 miles an hour, its width 200 yards, and its path two-and-a-quarter miles long.
One wall of a home was nearly destroyed, roofs were torn off a few homes, and the storm caused lesser damage to several homes.
The weather service also said corn and tobacco crops were flattened and several dozen trees uprooted or damaged.
Twisters were also reported in Hancock County and in Tell City.
There’s was no word of injuries.
Southern Illinois and southwest Indiana saw flash flooding.
The weather service recorded about 3 inches of rain at Evansville Regional Airport.
