Investigators seeking help in fatal I-69 crash

Authorities are asking for your help as they investigate a fatal hit and run on I-69. 

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who might have witnessed the accident to contact the Sheriff's Office.

It happened at about 10:45 Friday night on I-69 near S. Green River Road.

23-year-old David William Egan was reportedly walking along the highway waving his arms at passing drivers when he was hit.

Deputies found Egan in the roadway and administered CPR.

An ambulance took Egan to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In a news release, the sheriff’s asks residents, business owners, and property managers in the area of I-69 and Green River to review their security camera footage.

No description of the suspect vehicle was available, but the vehicle would have damage to the front end and likely continued west on I-69 toward Highway 41.
