Friday could be moving day for residents hoping to get into the renovated McCurdy Hotel on Evansville’s riverfront.
The notice on the agreement to let residents move into the McCurdy came in an email from Evansville Fire Department Public Information Officer Dan Grimm Thursday afternoon.
In the note, Grimm wrote that the building commission, the Evansville Fire Department and McCurdy developer The Kunkel Group have reached an agreement to resolve the remaining items on the pre-occupancy inspection checklist.
Grimm went on to say that “it looks like” people will be able to starting moving in Friday.
Following a Kentucky Derby party at the McCurdy earlier this month, there was some confusion about whether that meant the building was ready for residents. At that time, officials said several items remained to be resolved before a Certificate of Occupancy for permanent residency could be issued. SOC
