Work on a new pedestrian bridge in Evansville will close the Lloyd Expressway Wednesday night.
The City of Evansville says crews will shut-down the Lloyd between Vann Avenue and Stockwell Road for about a half-hour at 9 p.m., as a crane lifts the pedestrian bridge into place.
The westbound lanes near the bridge will be restricted to one lane by 7 p.m., as the crane moves into position.
Lane restrictions will continue in that area until the $2.2 million project is completed in mid-October.
The pedestrian bridge will connect the State Hospital grounds and Wesselman Park, Wesselman Woods, and the planned site of Roberts Park.
