Crews have repaired a water line break on Evansville’s East Side, and officials have issued a precautionary boil advisory.
An eight-inch water line broke near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Green River Road Tuesday night.
Water and Sewer Utility Director Allen Mounts tells the Evansville Courier and Press that a large portion of the city’s east side and the western part of Newburgh were affected by the outage.
He says the break drained the Grimm Road water tower.
The boil advisory is in effect for water customers north from Lynch Road to I-69 and south to Newburgh Road, and areas west from Green River Road and east to Grim Road.
Customers in the advisory area are urged to boil tap water for at least five minutes before using it for cooking or drinking, until the advisory is lifted.
