Holiday World looking ahead

It may be the dead of winter, but Holiday World and Splashin' Safari is looking ahead to spring and summer.

Park officials are expecting to review a record number of job applications to fill 2,200 seasonal positions in the coming months.

In a news release, President Matt Eckert says the theme park at Santa Claus will need ride operators, lifeguards, and sweepers -- plus staff for admissions, grounds, shops, games, and food.

Eckert describes the park as a “small city” with a variety of available jobs. The park will also open a new steel roller coaster next year.

Most of Holiday World’s seasonal positions are available to applicants who will be 16 years and older by April. A limited number of additional jobs require a minimum age of 14 years on the date of application. Retirees and other adults looking for seasonal employment are also encouraged to apply.
