Philip Hooper resigns from government post for a change of pace

The director of the Department of Metropolitan Development resigned last Thursday. Thirty four-year-old Philip Hooper is moving on to the private sector, after nearly two years working for the Winnecke administration.

The people who know him best say he might have stayed longer, but his ideas were ahead of his time.

Hooper tells WNIN he's taking a job at an architecture and planning firm and is renewing his real estate license.

The DMD’s Community Development Coordinator, Kelley Coures, has been appointed as the interim director until a permanent replacement is announced, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke said in a statement last week.
