The facility will house numerous health professions programs for the University of Evansville, the University of Southern Indiana and the Indiana University Medical School Evansville campus. The programs will work side by side to create a transformational approach to health care and medical education.

Cultural Task Force announced

The city of Evansville has launched a task force for cultural development.

It will focus on five cultural districts in the city: West Franklin Street, North Main Street, Downtown Evansville, the Arts District, and the University of Evansville area.

Metro Development Director Phillip Hooper tells WNIN News that the goal of the task force is to make the city a better place to live and visit. He says the effort will also help attract employers and college students who are looking for a good “quality of life.” And he says what’s good for one district is good for another, and the entire city.

We also asked Hooper to focus on West Franklin Street, and you can hear his comments on this week’s Trend program on WNIN FM.
