Former Sheriff's Secretary Charged with Theft

ISP

A former secretary in the Posey County Sheriff’s Office is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the office.

Indiana State Police say 42-year-old Trinity Tucker faces four counts of felony theft after a state audit determined more than $18,000 went missing between January 2015 and December 2018.

The alleged thefts happened during former Sheriff Greg Oeth’s term.

In a release, the ISP said Tucker was responsible for collecting all money coming into the sheriff’s office and for making all deposits into its bank account.

Tucker resigned from her position in February of this year.

After reviewing the investigation, Posey County Prosecutor Thomas Clowers filed criminal charges against Tucker.

The ISP said she surrendered at the Posey County Jail Thursday afternoon.

Tucker posted bond and was released.
