FREE Guided History Tour of "Body Slam: A History of Pro Wrestling in Evansville, Indiana" Exhibition

On Friday October 2 from 11 am to 1 pm, the Evansville Museum will be hosting its monthly Club. This FREE event, sponsored by Trilogy Health Services, Solarbron, and Park Avenue Securities & The Owen Team, is open to all adults and takes place from 11 am to 1 pm on the first Friday of (almost) every month. The Club will not meet in November.

This month's presentation will be a guided history tour of "Body Slam: A History of Pro Wrestling in Evansville, Indiana" exhibition.

This tour will be led by Community Wrestling Expert Sean Dulaney. The tour is free to attend. Museum doors open at 11 am, and the tour will begin at 11:15 am.

Body Slam: A History of Pro Wrestling in Evansville, Indiana
August 9, 2026 – January 31, 2027

Step into the ring and discover the larger-than-life history of professional wrestling in Evansville, Indiana.

From legendary performers and local wrestling personalities to unforgettable costumes and stories from behind the scenes, Body Slam: A History of Pro Wrestling in Evansville, Indiana explores the deep roots of professional wrestling in our community and its enduring place in Evansville’s entertainment history.

The exhibition highlights the people, places, and moments that helped shape Evansville’s wrestling legacy—including the story of Evansville’s first female professional wrestler. Visitors can also see costumes created locally by Jan Rhodes, proprietor of Jan’s Fashions & Costumes in Evansville, for professional wrestlers Hugh Morrus and Randy “Macho Man” Savage.

Whether you grew up watching wrestling, remember attending matches in Evansville, or are simply curious about this colorful chapter of local history, Body Slam offers a behind-the-scenes look at the performers, craftsmanship, personalities, and stories that made professional wrestling a memorable part of Evansville’s cultural landscape.

--- About the Presenter ---

Sean Dulaney is a writer/artist/editor and broadcaster from Southeastern Illinois. In the comics field, his work includes 51 DELTA and SUPERSONIC (Arcana Studios), THE “IT” GIRL MURDERS (Markosia), F. Stein, Consulting Detective, Dreah, Queen Of Thieves, and Miss Vicky & Her Cutie Commandos.

In recent years, Sean has spearheaded the annual radio show recreation during Metropolis, IL’s Superman Celebration. Building off his 400 Court Street podcast, Sean is currently writing a series of books on the history of Professional Wrestling in Evansville.

The Club is where you can meet new people, take a break, and learn new things. Each Club features a special presentation or tour. Board games & snacks are provided. The Club includes the Kids' Zone, a place where your kids and grandkids can play while you enjoy The Club activities. Your kids will always be safely within your eyesight.

There is no fee to attend the club on First Fridays, but donations are gratefully accepted. RSVPs are not required, but larger groups are encouraged to call ahead.
