The Posey County Sheriff is resigning. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The office says Sheriff Tom Latham submitted his formal resignation Wednesday, effective November 1st.
The announcement offered no details as to why Latham is stepping down but Chief Deputy Jeremy Fortune is running unopposed for sheriff in next week’s election.
Posey County Republican committee members are expected to caucus to fill the seat through December, and it will likely be filled by Fortune.
