A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting during the noon hour in Evansville Tuesday. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
Residents reported hearing shots shortly after noon in the 15-hundered block of E. Illinois St.
Reports indicate a woman was wounded during a domestic dispute and was able to walk to first responders who were staged at E. Franklin and Englewood.
The woman was taken to a hospital with what police described as non-life threatening injuries
Evansville Police say the person who shot the victim then engaged with police and officers shot and killed the offender, who died at the scene.
The EPD says no officers were injured.
The shooter was described as an adult male. There was no word yet on his name.
The shooting remains under investigation.
