The victim of a fatal crash on I-64 over the weekend has been identified as an eight-year-old girl. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Authorities say Isabelle Preske of Cynthiana died at the scene of Saturday morning’s collision.
The girl was a passenger in an SUV driven by her mother, Samantha Payne, which crossed the grass median and hit a pickup truck head-on.
Isabelle’s mother was taken to an Evansville hospital along with two men from West Virginia who were riding in the pickup.
The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office described all their injuries as serious.
The crash happened at about 4 a.m. Saturday on the highway near the intersection with I-69.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation continues and findings will be submitted to the Gibson County Prosecutor.
