A man accused of stealing a beer truck and crashing it into a sheriff’s vehicle has reached a plea deal. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
41-year-old Randall Scott Baker pleaded guilty to resisting law enforcement, theft, criminal recklessness, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dropped an attempted murder charge.
A judge sentenced Baker to six years in prison.
He was also ordered to pay more than 15-thousand dollars in restitution to Working Distributors.
Authorities say he stole the Bud Light truck from a liquor store parking lot and led officers on a pursuit that ended in Posey County.
The truck hit a deputy’s vehicle and came to rest in a farm field.
The deputy had placed stop-sticks in the road.
