Authorities say a drug trafficking network in Evansville has been dismantled with the sentencing of six people. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Police began investigating the organization in January 2023, identifying a coordinated group responsible for distributing methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl throughout the Evansville area.
The U.S. Department of Justice says 33-year-old Lovechild McGuire led the ring from a barber shop on S. Green River Road.
McGuire was sentenced to 28 years in federal prison, plus five years of supervised release.
Five others pleaded guilty and were sentenced in the case: 30-year-old Christopher Flax, 46-year-old Aimee Ranes, 39-year-old Trent Marion, 28-year-old Unique Carter, and 31-year-old Camri Outlaw.
Prosecutors say the drug trafficking organization distributed more than 4.5 kilograms of meth in 2023.
