A child is seriously injured after being hit by a school bus in Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
It happened just before 3:00 Tuesday afternoon in the 59-hundred block of N. St. Joe Avenue.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says the EVSC bus was turning around on a parking lot in Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park when the child was struck.
The juvenile was taken to a local hospital with what investigators called “serious injuries.”
The child’s name was not released.
Students were aboard the bus at the time and none of them were injured.
As required by Indiana law, the bus driver submitted to a chemical test.
The results are pending but the sheriff’s office says there’s no indication that impairment was a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
