Fatal Shooting Believed to be "Self Defense"

Evansville Police say a fatal shooting on Delmar Avenue Saturday morning was in self-defense

A fatal shooting on Evansville’s West Side has been declared self-defense. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

It happened Saturday in the 14-hundred block of Delmar Avenue, where police say a man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The coroner’s office has not yet released the man’s name.

The suspected shooter was detained at the scene.

The EPD said based on evidence and statements of everyone involved, the shooting has been determined to be in self-defense – “at this time.”

Police say no one has been arrested.
