EVSC officials say a student brought a gun to North High School on Friday. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The school corporation told North High and North Junior High families that law enforcement removed the weapon and the schools were secure.
Officials say no threat was made and students immediately alerted staff when the student told them he had a gun.
The weapon was found in the student’s backpack in his locker.
His name was not released.
The EVSC says the student will receive “maximum disciplinary action and legal consequences.”
Indiana law calls for a full, one-year expulsion.
The school district is praising the students who quickly reported the gun to staff.
