Evansville Police are trying to determine who fired shots that wounded 2 people Monday night

Evansville Police are investigating gunfire that left two people wounded. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of N Garvin Street just after 10:30 Monday night when 911 callers reported hearing more than ten gunshots.

Police found a male victim in the 100 block of E. Missouri who had been shot in the hip.

While rendering aid, officers learned a second male victim had arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The EPD says investigators were able to speak to both victims, who said they did not know who had shot them, or why.

The victim shot in the chest admitted to shooting back.

Both victims’ injuries were listed as non-life threatening.

The EPD says detectives recovered evidence at the scene and canvassed the area for more evidence and surveillance video.
