An Evansville man is charged with Arson following a fire that destroyed a West Side building. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
A joint investigation by the Police and Fire departments led to the arrest of 45-year-old Richard Lee Perkins Jr.
He’s accused of starting the fire in the 800 block of N. Fourth Avenue, near Fulton, during the early morning hours of July 20th.
The Fire Department says two people were inside the building when the fire began but both were able to escape and no injuries were reported.
In addition to Arson, Perkins also faces two counts of Criminal Recklessness and other charges related to a separate incident.
He’s being held in the Vanderburgh County jail on a 65-hundred dollar bond.
