Inmates have been transferred to the new Warrick County Jail. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The sheriff’s office says all inmates and operations – with the exception of Central Dispatch – have moved to the new facility on Hyrock Road in Boonville.
Sheriff Mike Wilder says the center’s main lobby is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
A secondary lobby dedicated to jail operations is open 24/7.
Officials cut a ribbon on the new Warrick County Sheriff’s Office and Security Center June 23rd.
The facility cost about 54-million dollars but Wilder says they hope to return three-to-four million.
