A felony arrest in Mt. Vernon drew a large police presence to the Posey County town last Thursday evening. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Mt. Vernon residents may have been surprised to see more than 20 officers from Indiana State Police, Mt. Vernon Police, and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, as well as U.S. Marshals, an ambulance, and even firefighters in their town.
They converged on the 600 block of Mulberry St., where ISP Sgt. Seth Rainey says a 44-year-old man from Evansville was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was wanted on a felony intimidation warrant out of Vanderburgh County.
His name has not been released.
Sgt. Rainey says such operations require careful planning, communication, and coordination among local, state, and federal partners.
He says the ISP appreciates the patience and cooperation of the residents during the operation.
