An Evansville man is in custody, accused of leading deputies on two high-speed pursuits. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says deputies spotted 22-year-old Isaiah Jazz Pulley driving a car on Covert Avenue just before 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
Pulley had an active felony warrant on forgery and counterfeiting charges.
Deputies tried to stop Pulley but the sheriff’s office says he intentionally struck a patrol vehicle and fled the scene.
Deputies chased the vehicle for a short distance before ending the chase for safety reasons.
About three hours later, deputies say they spotted Pulley on S. Weinbach, he refused to stop, and led deputies on a pursuit that lasted about 10 minutes and covered about seven-and-a-half miles through city streets.
The chase ended near the intersection of Vann Avenue and Fickas Road when Pulley hit another patrol vehicle, causing the suspect’s car to leave the roadway and overturn.
Pulley was taken into custody, transported to a hospital for medical clearance, and then booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on numerous charges.
