The Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office says Dakota Campbell, 32, of Dale and Robert York, 74, of Elberfeld died in Friday night's crash on I-69

Authorities have released the names of the two victims who died in a crash on I-69 in Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The coroner’s office says 32-year-old Dakota Campbell of Dale and 74-year-old Robert York of Elberfeld died in Friday night’s crash.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says Campbell was riding a motorcycle when it crashed near Green River Road.

York was driving a pickup truck and stopped to check on Campbell.

Investigators say York switched on his truck’s hazard lights and got out.

A third vehicle came along and changed lanes to avoid York’s stopped truck but hit Campbell and York in the roadway.

EFD medics attempted life-saving measures but Campbell and York were pronounced deceased at the scene.

There’s no word of any charges against the driver of the third vehicle.

The tragedy remains under investigation.
