NWS: Heavy Rain, Heat Wave On The Way

As the Tri-State recovers from a tornado outbreak, forecasters are warning of potentially heavy rain to be followed by a heat wave. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

The National Weather Service is issuing a Flash Flood Watch that will be in effect through Friday night.

Forecasters are predicting several rounds of rain and thunderstorms.

The region faces a Level 1 – or marginal – risk of severe storms but another tornado outbreak is not expected.

After the rain, the weather service predicts rising temperatures and humidity levels, starting Sunday.

Temperatures are forecast to climb into the mid-to-upper 90’s Sunday through at least Wednesday, with the heat index reaching 105-to-110.
