The National Weather Service says it confirmed 11 tornadoes in southeast Illinois and southwest Indiana Sunday evening

The National Weather Service says eleven confirmed tornadoes hit southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana Sunday evening. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Eight of those twisters were recorded in southwest Indiana, with the strongest an EF-2 tornado near Ft. Branch.

Officials say it was on the ground for more than eleven miles with winds up to 115 miles an hour.

An EF-1 tornado was also confirmed in Gibson County, with a total of six twisters recorded in Warrick County – four EF-1 storms and two weaker EF-zeros.

No major injuries have been reported in the impacted areas.

Officials from the weather service, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and county emergency management agencies surveyed the damage Monday.

CenterPoint Energy says it has restored power to all of its customers in southwest Indiana.
